Hello and welcome!  My name is Christi Gmyr and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State as well as a National Certified Counselor practicing in Liverpool, NY.  My services include therapy near Syracuse, NY and the surrounding areas.

I have been working in the Mental Health field for over 15 years in a variety of settings in both therapist and management positions.  I have extensive experience providing individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults. Academically, I have a Master of Science degree in Community Mental Health Counseling which I earned from University of Rochester in 2009.  From there I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) before returning to school to earn a second Master of Science degree in School Counseling in 2014, also from University of Rochester.









 

I currently have a full time practice providing individual therapy to adults throughout the Liverpool, Baldwinsville, N. Syracuse, Clay, Camillus, Fulton, Phoenix and greater Syracuse, NY areas.




 

Every person is unique.  What might be helpful for one person may not necessarily work for you.  I therefore use an eclectic therapy approach to individualize therapy based on your needs.  I believe this is a collaborative process - we are partners in this!  As a therapist, my goal is for you to have a positive and helpful experience.  I currently hold a Level-One Certification in Rational Living Therapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).  Other theories I draw from mainly include Person-Centered, Strength-Based, solution-focused and Motivational Interviewing.
